Michele McFarland is a fiction and nonfiction writer who loves using research to develop fictional characters and settings. Her journalism and creative non-fiction have appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, Baltimore Magazine, The Little Patuxent Review, Maryland Life, The Martha’s Vineyard Times, and the anthology Whereabouts: Stepping Out of Place. She has a Master’s Degree in fiction and non-fiction writing and has received the Johns Hopkins Outstanding Graduate Award as well as several Ingersoll Rand Awards. She is also on the board for Writers in Baltimore Schools, an after-school writing program for Baltimore City middle and high school students.
